![]() I'm wondering if Quicken for Linux is in the works. I'm moved to Linux and finally got rid of windows and I never plan to look back. I didn't like the performance of Quicken under Wine Emulation. Especially since I found out that Quicken for Windows is tied to Internet Explorer. Apparently they haven't been paying attention to all the virus and holes in IE, to understand that a financial product should not have a dependency on an external product; especially one as rancid as IE. Native Quicken is available for the Mac OS X, and the Mac OS X is really Free BSD Linux, which means that it can be much work to provide Quicken for the Linux Platform, since a rewrite from scratch is not required. I'm currently using GnuCash in the mean time, I was able to move all of my transactions over to it and continue managing my finances. Love to hear from other Linux users on this issue. Sad to hear about your WINE experience. Quicken 2019 for Windows imports data from Quicken for Windows 2010 or newer, Microsoft Money 2008 and 2009 (for Deluxe and higher). Quicken 2019 for Mac imports data from Quicken for Windows 2010 or newer, Quicken for Mac 2015 or newer, Quicken for Mac 2007, Quicken Essentials for Mac, Banktivity. I've been using CXOffice for a couple of years now with Q02 performing near flawlessly. I wouldn't be at all surprised to learn that Q on Mac is Cocoa and therefore not native to Darwin's BSD. While a Linux port would be utterly fantastic it would require porting. Best media player osx. Intuit doesn't strike me as an outfit that really cares one way or the other about the Linux user base. In fact, judging by Q on Mac they seem to hold Mac users in contempt; continuing to further marginalize the Mac with each successive release. (Remember their attempt to drop the Mac version?). I run Quicken under wine (Crossover Office, actually), and I find it functions near-flawlessly (I had to copy the patch files from the Windoiws side by hand to upgrade from 2004 version 1 to 2004 version 5). It wouldn't have to be an exact match (in fact, I'm sure that there's alot that could be improved by approaching it with a fresh perspective). But, something vaguely like the 'Quicken Home' bar.
